Facings

Would you like to repair a broken tooth? Or do you want to get rid of a crack between your teeth? Would you like to have beautiful white teeth? Facings can be a great solution for you. Our specialists at NHC Clinic have a lot of experience with this and will make your teeth shine again.

What is a facing?

A facing is a layer of tooth-colored filler material. Our professionals use this material to adjust the shape or color of your teeth. Consider filling gaps between teeth. But also repair broken corners, masking crooked teeth and whiten brown or yellow teeth. At NHC Clinic in Turkey, we have facings of porcelain, but we also offer facings of composite.

The difference between composite facings and porcelain facings

The facings of NHC Clinic in Turkey, are made from composite or porcelain. If you take composite facings, you can assume that they will last between 5 and 10 years. Porcelain facings last between 15 and 20 years before they are due for replacement. This is because porcelain is a more durable material than composite.

Also, the quality of facings made of porcelain is higher than the facings of composite. They are less sensitive to dental plaque and discolor less quickly. You will also notice this in the price. Placing porcelain facings is more expensive than placing composite facings. Fortunately, the prices for placing this are much lower in Turkey.

Finally, composite facings can be placed more easily than with porcelain. A composite facing can often be placed immediately. With a porcelain facing, a first impression is often made of the teeth and you should come back afterward.

The treatment in steps of a composite facing

Step 1: Determine the color
In this step, you choose the right color of your composite facing together with one of our professionals. We can immediately show you the effect of the desired color.

Step 2: Grinding the tooth
If necessary, we grind a very thin layer off the surface of your tooth. This creates space for the facing.

Step 3: Placing the facing
Before the composite is added to your tooth, your tooth is treated with an adhesive layer. The composite can be added to this adhesive layer.

Step 4: Shaping the facing
Now that the composite has been added, the correct shape must be created. When the correct shape has been created, the composite will be hardened and the surface will be polished. If you do not like the shape or color, it can still be corrected.

The treatment in steps of a porcelain facing

Step 1: Determine the color
In this step, you choose the right color of your porcelain facing with one of our professionals. The desired color will be made in our laboratory.

Step 2: Grinding the tooth
With a porcelain facing, glaze often has to be ground away. A porcelain facing must be at least half a millimeter thick.

Step 3: Shaping the facing
A print is made from your tooth. The desired shape of your facing will be made in our laboratory.

Step 4: Placing the facing
Often with a porcelain facing, you have to make a repeat appointment. We apply the facing during this appointment. Just like with a composite facing, your tooth is treated with an adhesive layer. The facing is applied to this layer. If you do not like the shape or color, a new facing will be made in our laboratory.
